In 2019, the two Austrian sisters Nika and Carolina founded their bag label. They discovered the love for fashion at an early age. Their mother ran two well-known fashion boutiques in Austria for several years and passed on her passion to her daughters.
The two founding sisters Niko and Caroline
Carolina founded her own fashion label "La Folie" directly after her fashion studies. Nika gained her first online shop experience at a interior design company.
Together they decided to take the next big step and founded the bag label Nicas Concept in Berlin. The name came from the combination of the first two letters of their first names.
The idea was not to rely on fast trends and instead produce unique handbags from old, abandoned fabrics. Unique pieces that are nevertheless affordable and, above all, sustainably produced.
To achieve this, the sisters work closely with European interior designers who provide the young label with leftover but high-quality fabrics that would normally end up in the landfill. Nika and Carolina firmly believe in the radiance of these old fabrics.
Nica bags during production
NicasConcept bags are designed in Berlin and handmade in Istanbul with a focus on an ethical supply chain and respect for the planet. Often only one or two exclusive bags are made from a sample fabric.
Since this year, every purchase of a NicasConcept bag automatically supports the organisation Deutsche Alzheimer Gesellschaft.
