An ecoresort on the 9000 hectare island with the same name, between jungle, fine sandy beaches and the Andaman Sea.
The owners, Christopher and Farina Kingsley, are deeply committed to leaving the smallest possible ecological footprint on their ecotourism project. In addition, they have established the Lampi Foundation to protect the underwater world. Great importance is attached to the protection of sea turtles that lay their eggs on the beach for example.
For the construction of the buildings, the craftsmen from the region worked almost only with recycled materials. The eleven Tented Beach Villas are an exclusive mix of safari tents and recycled woods. The three Treetop villas high up in the tops of the trees are made of recovered wood from old buildings and boats, and the windows and shutters are made of recycled materials from old houses and former schools.
And of course, guests are always welcome to stroll through the greenhouses and gardens or get tips on how to grow and prepare them.
An excursion to the nature conservation center is worthwhile. From the new viewing platforms, you can perfectly observe various species of monkeys, mouse deer, giant flying squirrels and colorful birds (from approx. 290 € per person/night incl. full board, waaleresort.com).

Hi, I was just wondering if you are open this season or closed. I am working for ARTE (www.arte.tv), the french german culture tv channel. We were thinking about shooting a documentary about the Mergui National Park, but it seems, everything is closed… Best regards Martin
