Circulove is supported by a group of lifestyle professionals, beauticians, Scandinavian designers and natural cosmetics chemists for whom sustainable thinking and responsible action are paramount. Founder Päivi Paltola, has worked in the beauty, fashion and design industry for more than 20 years and is a CIDESCO cosmetician herself. Increasingly concerned about greenwashing, the high percentage of ineffective, untraceable ingredients and expired products stuck in superfluous packaging, she decided to start her own beauty label.

She knew that more than 80% of a product's environmental footprint is decided at the design stage and this knowledge led her to explore how to apply the principles of circular design in skincare

Circulove products combine clean, fresh natural cosmetics with social responsibility and circular design thinking. The Clean Beauty promise: Vegan + bioactive, fresh + traceable, with circular effectiveness. All oils used are food-grade, 99.8% pure and largely made from by-products of the organic food industry. Vegan probiotics, prebiotics and postbiotics support the skin's microbiome and barrier, providing natural skin wellness after daily exposure to pollution, wind and sun, blue light from digital screens and the friction of wearing masks. All products are vegan, animal cruelty free, FI-Natura certified and made from 100% natural, biodegradable ingredients. About 85% of the ingredients come from Finland - the cleanest country in the world. Of course, all free from mineral oil, parabens, phthalates, sulphates, silicones, chemical sunscreen, nano zinc oxide, dyes, added fragrances or GMOs.

To preserve maximum efficacy and freshness, the creams are labelled with the best-before date and a batch number. The bottles are designed to be filled without air to keep the contents germ-free and ensure that only the right amount is used and therefore nothing is wasted. The bottles are 100% recyclable, 30% of which is plastic waste from the sea. The first production batch removed 49,286 plastic bags from in the Java Sea collected by local fishermen. The packaging has been designed by Ilkka Kärkkäinen @soHelsinki.
